U.S. News & World report best hospital rankings

From the Office of Martha Marsh, CEO

The annual U.S. News & World Report ranking of Best Hospitals was released today. For the eighth consecutive year, Stanford Hospital & Clinics is listed in the report’s Honor Roll of the best hospitals in the nation. SHC’s overall ranking of 16 is a reflection of the tremendous expertise and dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff. Congratulations to all for this recognition of your ongoing commitment to quality patient care and the standards of excellence we strive for together every day.

This year SHC ranked in the top 20 in nine specialties. The specialty areas in which SHC received national recognition are (rankings in parenthesis): Cancer (9), Psychiatry (10), Heart & Heart Surgery (11), Ear, Nose & Throat (12), Gynecology (12), Rheumatology (12), Kidney Disease (19), Urology (19), Orthopedics (20), Neurology & Neurosurgery (28) and Geriatric Care (33).

SHC was one of only 19 hospitals nationwide to qualify for Honor Roll status.
